DESCRIPTION:

Bamboo has been used for flutes for centuries. The actually anatomy of bamboo is structured for a flute, because it’s already hollow with internal nodes (walls) on the inside. Evergreen Instruments uses a thicker walled bamboo to ensure strength and create a fuller tone. Bamboo has mid and high-mid tones that give a piercing sound while maintaining its tone quality. 

This flute is a Native American style Flute (NA Flute). I hand make this from my shop in North Carolina, from start to finish, just as I do all of my flutes and instruments. The Native American style flute is a double chambered flute which means it is easy to play, just blow! It is made of high quality, heat treated and sealed bamboo. It is tuned in the minor pentatonic scale. I make a nice, mahogany or walnut mouthpiece at the end to make it comfortable to blow. 

This flute is a 6 hole flute and an extra leather strap is added to the package in case you’d like to cover the 4th hole so it can play just like a 5-hole flute. 

You can have the option for the flute to be tuned in 440 hz, which is the international standard. Or you can have it tuned in 432 hz which is considered by many as the healing frequency. If you're not sure what key you would like it in, I will make a standard key which is good for small or large hands (key of A-G) 

The Artwork On Your Flute: The symbol of America is a bald eagle, courageous and bold. The thing that sets the eagle apart from other fierce animals is that it can fly and soar. It has the aerial view that no other animal can obtain. I capture the image of America with my inlay as the eagle is soaring over the Grand Canyon. 

What size and key should I get? High Range size flutes are great for travel flutes. The sound is higher pitch and very sweet sounding. The mahogany makes the tone very warm sounding with more volume. They also make extremely nice melody flutes to go along with other instruments. 

The Mid-range size flutes are the standard size for most players. You will typically see solo flute players playing this size flutes. Almost any sized hand can reach the holes for these flutes. For the beginner playing. 

The Low-range size flutes are bass flutes. They create a low pitched sounding flutes and are very relaxing sounding. This is for people who can stretch their fingers at least 1 ¼ inch apart from each other comfortably. I recommend this sized instrument for a more experienced player. 

The Finish: The finish is made from Caleb’s signature shellac finish. It’s made from a food safe material called shellac that has been used on instruments for centuries. It’s durable and absolutely stunning finish. The finish gives a 3D image of the wood and helps bring the characteristics of the wood out.

The case is custom fit to the exact size of your flute. A shoulder strap with the ability to adjust the length allows you to carry it on your shoulder. Note: We typically carry leather colors: gray, dark gray, tan, brown and black. Our colors of leather may vary depending on availability therefore we cannot give the option to choose what color you would like. But we will make sure it matches the style and look of your flute.

Stand: Our stands are made with high quality wood that matches the design of the flute. Each stand is designed to hold the flute for display when it is not being used. It allows you to be able to showcase it on a shelf or table safely without it falling off.
