DESCRIPTION:
This stringed lyre is a beautifully handcrafted instrument that has been designed and crafted by Caleb Byerly. He used the essential design of the Hebrew lyre that King David would have played. The lyre and harp alike have the sound quality to calm nerves and relax the body. It is a historically proven tool for healing. Some people are using these instruments in hospital rooms during operations because there is healing that is released through these frequencies.
It's easy to play! All you have to do is pluck the strings. It has a soft, mellow sound to it. It's a gentle sound. There are advanced techniques for playing, such as harmonics, string bending, double hand playing and muting strings.
You can tune it in different scales but our recommendation is as simple as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C
It can also be tuned in other scales such as various Pentatonic and Diatonic scales.
It's stunningly beautiful on the shelf and can be used for music at the same time. The ten strings allow you to be able to tune it in difference scales.

Materials: Mahogany body, Birch top and back, brass anchor pins, steel tuning pins, steel strings and brass tuning wrench.
Finish: The finish is made from Caleb’s signature shellac finish. It’s made from a food safe material called shellac that has been used on instruments for centuries. It’s durable and absolutely stunning finish. The finish gives a 3D image of the wood and helps bring the characteristics of the wood out.

Leather Bag: Our bags are made with high quality, genuine leather. The case is designed to protect the lyre from being damaged when traveling or to store when not being used. The inside of the case is a soft material to also help protect the lyre. There is a metal zipper that goes around 3 sides of the lyre to allow you to open the bag and insert the lyre without it getting scratched. A leather strap allows you to carry it on your shoulder. Note: We typically carry leather colors: gray, dark gray, tan, brown and black. Our colors of leather may vary depending on availability therefore we cannot give the option to choose what color you would like. But we will make sure it matches the style and look of your lyre.
Stand: Our stands are made with high quality wood that matches the design of the lyre. Each stand is designed to hold the lyre upright for display when it is not being used. It allows you to be able to showcase it on a shelf or table safely without it falling off.
Extra Set of Steel or Silver Wound Nylon Strings: Strings break from time to time and strings need to be replaced every year. Our extra set of strings are the exact size, length and number that matches the lyres that we build here at Evergreen Instruments.
